I couldn't imagine what was expecting for me at the Post Office.  My friend Julia from Ukraine send me a BIG envelope full of color and love!

No podía imaginar lo que me estaba esperando en la Oficina de Correos.  Mi amiga Julia de Ucrania me envió un ENORME sobre lleno de colores y cariño!

Those pretty and yummy oranges are actually a bookmark!  Amazing!

Julia read carefully my profile, and she chose those pretty cards for me:  my passion for books and my excitement for theater.  How kind from her!

I want to attend to this theater and to spend all day long reading those books in the grass...

Last year, October 2012, I learned something new:  Corsica is a French island in the Mediterranean.  It is located west of Italy, southeast of the French mainland, and north of the Italian island of Sardinia.  Until that moment, I supposed that Corsica was an Italian island and that's it.  
This is part of the magic from Postcrossing!  Now I have this wonderful pictures to know a little bit about this French place. Amazing!

El año pasado, en octubre del 2012, aprendí algo nuevo:  Corsica es una isla francesa en el Mediterráneo. Está localizada al occidente de Italia, al sureste del territorio francés y al norte de la isla italiana de Sardinia. Hasta ese momento, yo creía que Córcega era una isla italiana y punto.
Esto es parte de la magia de Postcrossing!  Ahora tengo estas maravillosas fotografías que me enseñaron un poquito de este lugar fuera de Francia.  ¡Increíble!

Almost a year ago, on October 2012, I got this amazing card from Finland.  It is about the Aurora Borealis.
I wonder how amazing must be to look at it. Don´t you think?


Hace casi un año, en octubre del 2012, recibí esta bellísima tarjeta desde Finlandia.  Es acerca de la Aurora Boreal.  Me imagino lo maravilloso que debe ser verla personalmente, no creen?

Books and more books

I consider myself a bookworm.  So, yesterday I attended to the International Book Fair in my city.  It was dedicated to Mexico, but there were no good Mexican books there.  I was looking for some poetry from Jaime Sabines, and there were none! :(

Anyway, the place was crowded and there were a lot of gifts for everybody:

And of course, I picked some books, too:

That orange book (Rice and Beans...) is going to fly to one of my Postcrossing friends who loves exotic food.  And the best part is that the book was signed by the author!!

It was a nice Sunday. And an excellent way to start September.

Libros y más libros.

Soy un ratón de biblioteca.  Así que ayer visité la Feria Internacional del Libro en esta ciudad.  La Feria estaba dedicada a México, pero no llevaron buena literatura mexicana.  Yo estaba buscando algo de la maravillosa poesía de Jaime Sabines, pero nada!!

En todo caso, el lugar estaba repleto y nos ofrecieron muchos regalitos:  un bolso reciclable, un par de lapiceros, un librito de Charles Dickens y otro de Benito Pérez Galdós, una tarjeta (que no pienso enviar), una libreta de apuntes, algunas reproducciones históricas en gran formato y muchos marcadores de lectura.

Por supuesto, también compré algunos libros y entre ellos uno de cocina de la región caribeña de mi país, que se lo enviaré a una de mis amigas de Postcrossing que le encanta la cocina exótica.  La mejor parte es que la autora estaba en la Feria y lo autografió!!

Fue un hermoso domingo y una excelente forma de empezar este mes de setiembre.
