I like all the tradition about the day of love and friendship... it is nice to see so many hearts, candy, and flowers everywhere.

These two cards are from China.  My PC friend wrote some nice words in Spanish...  I really appreciate it!

The Buddha Statue card is one of the famous Chinese Grottoes, they are UNESCO World Heritage.  I love it!

The other card is about Jiuzhai Valley is locally known as Jiuzhaigou (Chinese for “Nine Village Valley”). It is a national park located in South Western China. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.  This friend tells that this amazing place is her hometown and it was the place where the big earthquake in 2008 caused thousands of deaths.  Thank you Yan Yan for sharing a little bit of you with me!

Estas dos tarjetas llegaron de China.  Mi amiga de Postcrossing escribió un dulce saludo en español.  Realmente agradezco ese gesto.  

La tarjeta de la estatua de Buddha es una de los famosos monumentos de Las grutas de Yungang.  Este increíble lugar fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco.

La otra tarjeta es un hermoso lago del Valle de los Nueve Pueblos.  Es un sitio de conservación de la naturaleza y reconocido como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1992.  Está situado en la Provincia de Sichuan, al sur de China occidental.  Esta amiga me cuenta que es su lugar de origen y que ahí ocurrió el gran terremoto del 2008 que causó miles de muertos.  ¡Gracias Yan Yan por compartir un poquito de tu vida conmigo!

A little late but full of joy, this Xmas card arrives from Malaysia with some exotic feeling... it is made of Kraft cardstock and I really like it.  Thank you, Chelsea.

Un poco tarde, pero llena de emoción, llegó esta tarjeta de Navidad, desde Malasia, con un aire un poco exótico debido a que está hecha de cartulina cruda.  ¡Me encanta!  Gracias Chelsea.

One thing I love about Postcrossing is meeting special characters from far away countries.  One of my dearest characters is Krtek, this lovely mole who I love since I got my first Czech card.   I really enjoy the tender and inocence of those little friends.  In this special case, the stamps were adorable, too.  Thank you, Jana.  I am enjoying it!

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de Postcrossing es que me permite conocer personajes importantes de países lejanos.  Uno de mis personajes favoritos es Krtek, un adorable topo que conocí con la primera tarjeta que recibí de la República Checa.  Realmente disfruto de la ternura e inocencia de estos pequeños amigos.  En este caso en particular, las estampillas también son preciosas.  Gracias Jana, realmente estoy disfrutándola.

There is something romantic or magic in B/W pictures.  It seems that you are not invited to be part of the scene, but you are in there anyway.  In this case, I love this card from China because it has two of my favorites characteristics:  B/W and books.  I am spending a lot of time crumbling every tiny detail in the photo.  Thank you very much Jiayao.  I love this card!

Hay algo romántico y mágico en las fotos en blanco y negro.  Pareciera que no fuimos invitados a ser parte de la escena pero estamos ahí de cualquier manera.  En este caso, me encanta esta tarjeta de China porque tiene dos cualidades que me gustan:  es en blanco y negro y es de libros.  He dedicado mucho tiempo a desmenuzar cada pequeño detalle de esa foto. ¡Muchas gracias Jiayao, me enamoré de tu tarjeta!

Let's start with this traditional Balinese dancers.  They are absolute cute! I love when Postcrossing friends share meaningful details about their lives, just like this little Ginger cat.  It makes me happy, because it is really sharing live time.  Aku cinta Kamu, Cecil.

This sketch is awesome.  I like every single detail: the lamps, the plant, the old wall.  Love it!  This is a card from the Simon Tan Art Gallery, and it explains that pre-war houses evokes nostalgia of their heritage. They love this crumbling walls because of the emotional content of their memories.   Thank you Chelsea, for sharing so kind feelings!

Este dibujo es bellísimo.  Me gusta cada pequeño detalle: las lámparas,  el macetero, la vieja pared... Me encanta!  Esta tarjeta es de la Galería de Arte Simon Tan y el reverso explica que las casas de la pre-guerra les evoca nostalgia por su cultura.  Estas paredes viejas y desgastadas los emociona porque los lleva a un tiempo que ya no volverá.  Gracias Chelsea, por compartir estos sentimientos.

This year I realized a bunch of details about Mondova, and now I love this country!  Look at this served table... I want everything:  the homemade bread, the tender cheese, the vegetables and specially, a shot of whatever is in this awesome pottery vase.  Thank you Elena for also sharing your actual favorite music, I am looking for it at Youtube. ♪ ♫

Este año empecé a conocer un poco acerca de Moldovia y ahora me encanta este país.  
Miren esta tarjeta con esa mesa servida... yo quiero todo:  el pan recién hecho, el quesito tierno, los vegetales y especialmente quiero probar lo que sea que haya en esa vasija de barro.

Oxford and its famous Universities... love it!  I really would like to be there when a procession like this goes by; it seems like time stops in the past.  Thank you Lita for sharing your town and I really love the Queen stamps.

I ♥ NY! Look at this view.  I just imagine walking around this amazing city:  attending the Metropolitan Opera House, Ballet at the Lincoln Center, the Philharmonic concerts, Central Park, Cheesecake, Pizza, Museums... I want to be there!

I ♥ NY!   Vean este paisaje.  Sólo puedo imaginarme caminando en esta increíble ciudad:  yendo a conciertos en el Metropolitan Opera House, el Ballet en el Lincoln Center, los conciertos de la Filarmónica, el Parque Central, cheesecake, pizza, los museos... ¡Quiero estar ahí!

Yesterday I got a wonderful card from this fascinating country:  Malaysia.  

The card is amazing:  same landscape view from the unbelievable Kuala Lumpur... day and night.  Love it ♥!  It has the flag in a corner, very helpful because I can´t recognize them at all!

La postal es bellísima:  el mismo paisaje de la increíble Kuala Lumpur... en el día y en la noche.  Me encanta ♥!  Tiene la bandera nacional en una esquina, detalle muy útil porque soy incapaz de reconocerlas!

The long envelope had a long card (8 inches long),  a colorful flower card, an amazing paint made by Ivan Khrutsky from the National Art Museum of Belarus, and a  wonderful sepia landscape picture.

El sobre tenía una tarjeta igual de larga (del tamaño de un papel carta), una colorida tarjeta de un ramo de flores, una hermosa pintura de una mujer del pintor Ivan Khrutsky que pertenece al Museo Nacional de Arte de Belarus y una increíble tarjeta de un paisaje en color sepia.

The cherry on top are these amazing magnets... they make me happy when I am in the kitchen!

Suddenly I reminded this wonderful card that Nina sent me from Finland. I love street markets... I would like to walk around this one.

I can´t believe I forgot this amazing story!

I asked for a wonderful violin card to a kind lady from Ukraine.  It arrives almost inmediately.  I was so excited that I got a photo frame and I hold it in my office.  Today when I was writting this post, I looked at my wall and I remember... I haven´t say thank you to the kind lady!
Shame on me!  Really, really sorry.  It was the card fault because it is so amazing that I can´t remember the wall before it!

Sorry for the delayed thank you.  But please, believe me, I am really, really thankfull for the kindness and friendship of Postcrossing people.

¡No puedo creer que olvidé esta historia!

Solicité una increible tarjeta de un violín a una generosa dama de Ucrania.  La tarjeta llegó casi inmediatamente.  Yo estaba tan feliz con la tarjeta que conseguí un marco para foto y la colgué en mi oficina.  
Hoy, mientras escribía este post, miré a la pared y me dí cuenta que no le había agradecido a la amable señora que me la envió.

¡Qué vergüenza!  Estoy realmente apenada.  Pero la verdad, es culpa de la tarjeta, por ser tan hermosa que no siquiera puedo recordar la pared sin ella colgando ahí!

Mil disculpas por el agradecimiento tardío.  Pero, por favor creánme, estoy sumamente agradecida por la amabilidad y la amistad de la gente de Postcrossing.
