What a surprise!

Yesterday I got an envelope... 

Ayer recibí un sobre...

It had beautiful stamps and decoration.  It was kind of heavy.
As soon as I got home, I opened and this is what I found in it:

Traía una hermosa decoración con estampillas y sellos.  No era muy liviano.
Apenas llegué a la casa, lo abrí y esto fue lo que encontré:

Then I discover more special things:

A Little note full of nice thoughts and the most amazing vintage card... the sender lady explained that she got  a box of cards in an auction.  They were printed between 1905 and 1970.

Una pequeña nota repleta de hermosos pensamientos y la más bella tarjeta antigua...  La joven remitente explicó que ella consiguió una caja de tarjetas postales antiguas en una subasta.  Fueron impresas entre 1905 y 1970.


This is one of those "out of the box" cards that sometimes Postrcrossers receive.  I was surprised and I loved every single detail:  stickers, stamps, colors... It made my day! Thank you, Nan.

Esta es una de esas "tarjetas" poco comunes que algunas veces los Postcrossers recibimos.  Fue toda una sorpresa y me encantó cada pequeño detalle como las calcomanías, los sellos, los colores... Me alegró el día!  Gracias Nan.

 

 

 



Expired postcards

There is nothing more frustrating than an expired postcard!
I had 3 expired postcards from last year and I have been sending messages and more postcards trying to achieve those Postcrossers...

Nada es más frustrante que una tarjeta postal expirada!  Tenía 3 postales en ese status desde el año pasado y seguí enviándoles mensajes e incluso otras tarjetas, tratando de tener contacto con estos Postcrossers...

Today I found that one of them is still Postcrossing and he registered my expired card! I am so so happy...
If you don´t want/can continue in Postcrossing, please edit your account to INACTIVE STATUS; in that way, your address will be not longer sent to another Postcrosser and we will not have any more expired cards.  Thank you!

#1 Australia

As you may know, Latin America countries love football soccer. Costa Rica is a tiny country. We are 4.500.000 costa rican people and we love football soccer. Our team is not a well prepared one, but it is brave. Today it was our first game: Costa Rica vs. Uruguay. Nobody trusted in our team. Uruguay is the first World Cup Champion and Costa Rica has never goes far than the first round of the competition. But today, something changed. Costa Rica played a wonderful game and we won. It is really important for us. The next games are with Italy and United Kingdom... not easy at all. Nevertheless, today we are proud, happy, and grateful with our players.  Go Ticos!

Now I want to share with you our commemorative stamps. They are gorgeous.


Como ustedes deben saber, Latinoamérica ama el futbol.  Costa Rica es un país pequeñito.  Somos apenas 4.500.000 costarricenses y amamos el futbol.   Nuestro equipo no está muy bien preparado, pero es valiente.  Hoy fue nuestro primer partido en esta Copa Mundial:  Costa Rica - Uruguay.  Nadie confiaba en nosotros.  Uruguay es el primer campeón mundial de fútbol y Costa Rica nunca ha pasado de la primera eliminatoria. Pero hoy algo cambió.  Costa Rica jugó un partido maravilloso y ganamos.  Esto es grandioso.  Los siguientes partidos son contra Italia e Inglaterra... nada sencillo.  Sin embargo, hoy estamos orgullosos, felices y agradecidos con nuestros jugadores.  Vamos Ticos.

Y ahora les quiero mostrar las estampillas conmemorativas del Mundial.  Están hermosas.

Out of inspiration

Sometimes I don't know what else to write in a postcard.  But, I am not alone.  In the Postcrossing Blog there is a wonderful post to help us to survive when the muse is absent...

Got mail!

Today I picked these beautiful cards at the Post Office.  First one, my DE-3216772.  Amazingly it just las 9 days to travel from Germany to Costa Rica.  I fall in love with this flower Island and with  the stamps:

Hoy recogí estas hermosas tarjetas en la Oficina Postal.  Primero, mi DE-3216772. Sorprendentemente sólo tardó 9 días en viajar desde Alemania hasta Costa Rica.  Me enamoré de esta Isla de flores y de las estampillas:

Then, I decided to research a little.  Here it is what I found:  

Mainau Island lies just off the shores of Lake Constance in Baden-Württemberg in the far south-west of Germany, close to Switzerland and Austria. With more than a million visitors every year, it has become a major attraction in this trilateral border region. Its mere 45 hectares are home to an extraordinary diversity of flowers, trees and shrubs. 

Decidí investigar un poco más y esto fue lo que encontré:

La Isla de Mainau se encuentra junto a las orillas del lago de Constanza en Baden-Württemberg, en el extremo sur-oeste de Alemania, cerca de Suiza y Austria. Con cada año recibe más de un millón de visitantes, por lo que se ha convertido en una gran atracción en esta región fronteriza trilateral. Sus sólo 45 hectáreas son el hogar de una extraordinaria diversidad de flores, árboles y arbustos.

Here it is.  Another dreaming place that Postcrossing makes me wonder when I could visit...

The second card I got, was from my now long term PC friend Yab Yan from China. He keeps me interested in non really famous places from her country.  And the stamps... gorgeous as always!

La segunda tarjeta que recibí es de mi ahora viejo amigo de Postcrossing Yan Yan de China.  Él me mantiene interesada en conocer lugares no tan famosos de su país.  Y las estampillas... maravillosas como siempre!

Gotchi cards

I will love to receive a Gotchi card.  Some Japanese Postcrossers say that they are too expensive to share.  I can understand that. Anyway, Gotchi cards are adorable!!

Me encantaría recibir una Gotchi card. Algunos Postcrossers de Japón alegan que son muy caras para compartirlas.  Puedo entenderlo, pero de cualquier manera son adorables!
